This abstract work on paper was inspired by visits to the southern coastline of the UK, and in particular by the idea of cliffs and edges as the delimitation of an object, or as the separation between different parts of a painting.
The scene explores the notion of a cliff as the limit of the land - an edge which is sometimes clear, and sometimes blends in with the surrounding colours. Natural elements, like plants and flowers, highlight the particularities of those cliff areas where nature is preserved and farmed animals often graze.
